About Me

Hello and welcome to my business! If you are seeking self-care and renewal you have come to the right place. I have taught transformative life skills to people for over 25 years. Hatha yoga is a therapeutic technology based on postures and breath. Craniosacral therapy (CST) addresses the central nervous system (CNS) which is the center of all other systems. 

Stretch out and straighten up by taking alignment based postural yoga classes with an experienced yoga teacher who is certified to teach. Held at our studio in Bodfish, group classes are scheduled in regular intervals throughout the year. Private yoga classes are available by arrangement. 

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle touch therapy that releases tensions locked in the body to relieve pain and restore health. Few systems are more important than your central nervous system. The system with the most impact on the central nervous system is the craniosacral system, composed of the soft tissues and fluids protecting your brain and spinal cord. By freeing restrictions CST allows your entire body to relax and self-correct.

Our body has an innate ability to heal itself. Both craniosacral therapy and Hatha yoga practice enhance the body’s natural healing capacity. Yoga Classes

Intelligent Movement Based on Good Body Mechanics

If you are in pain, it might hurt to move, but it is crippling not to move. Motion is lotion to all the joints in the body. Yoga poses teach us to stretch out and align ourselves safely while we hold our sometimes challenging but also exhilarating postures. Leveraging my bodywork experience, I guide people carefully into yoga poses using props to enhance alignment. Dedicated to mindfulness practice, I incorporate mental and physical quiescence into our classes. The restorative sessions strengthen resilience. Join me for a yoga class and learn to breathe more efficiently while Identifying and correcting structural imbalances caused by unconscious postural habits. Pacify your heart with yoga's powerful breathing techniques which balances cardiac function and induces well-being. Extend your mind into your body. Your stable posture tethers an unruly mind. Lengthening your breath slows down your heart. This calms our physiological state helping us regulate our emotions. Yoga works as good as medicine, but is non toxic, cost-effective and all the side effects are good ones. This "living fossil" has stood the test of time. Cultivate the divine body, the "yoga deha." The diamond body yields the consciousness of freedom.

Craniosacral Therapy

I started studying massage in 2001 and earned certification in Swedish massage the next year. Following up my training with workshops in sports massage, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi and Rosen Method bodywork, I discovered craniosacral therapy and never looked back. After completing the core training in craniosacral therapy with the Upledger Institute, I earned certification with them in 2012. I have followed up with further workshops which include using Craniosacral to reverse the aging process as well as working with the cranial nerves. CST addresses a full spectrum of pain, illness and dysfunction, including: • Migraines and headaches • Chronic neck and back pain • Stress and tension related disorders • Brain and spinal cord injuries • Chronic fatigue • Fibromyalgia • Orthopedic problems

Vegan Diet

Food is our medicine. In the wake of the Covid-19 crisis, there is no more urgent time than today to start addressing our nutritional deficiencies caused by the Standard American Diet, or SAD for short. Heavily based on animal products full of saturated fat and cholesterol this diet creates disease over time and absolutely diminishes fluid movement. Plus, its not kind to the animals we live on to provide this opulent resource. After a lifetime of mostly a vegetarian diet, I attended chef school to learn how to prepare vegan and raw food. After teaching several cooking classes in my kitchen, I trained with a cooking coach to lead demonstration-style vegan cooking classes for large groups of people. Hosting myriad dinner parties throughout the year I have honed my skills in preparing savory and nutritious meals without using any food of animal origin, that is nothing with a mother or a face. The vegan diet centers around whole foods that are plant-based. The colorful plants we eat are full of antioxidants, phytochemicals and fiber. All those colors stay inside of you and become you. Experts agree that our food choices matter and we can flatten the curve of a pandemic by increasing our innate immunity through a nutritious diet. If you are interested in improving your health diet is a powerful game changer. It may take longer to prep meals but handling beautiful fruits, veggies, seeds, beans, grains and nuts are a feast for the eyes before you even taste them.  Nancy is the quintessential philanthropist.  I arrived sadly in need of restorative regeneration.  One look at me, my limp from a very recent aching hip, my sallow pallor from ceaseless migraine headaches, stresses and familial strains, an age old shoulder ailment – she knew without my telling, that I was in sore need of her administrations.

Typical of the quiet, gentle, unassuming Nancy, she eased me into agreeing to a few yoga stretches and we easily performed a few stretches there in sheer, blissful comfort. It felt so good.

Lingering on those that I had actually told her about, but finding others untold.

Upon finally going to bed, I announced with glee that my hip, for the very first time in approximately six weeks, was pain free. As too my headache, a little longer to dissipate but which was completely gone by the time my head finally touched the pillow.
